The Black Panthers and Voter Intimidation
The story has its origins on Election Day in 2008, when two members of the New Black Panther Party stood in front of a Philadelphia polling place. YouTube video of the men, now viewed nearly 1.5 million times, shows both wearing paramilitary clothing. One carried a nightstick.
Early last year, just before the Bush administration left office, the Justice Department filed a voter-intimidation lawsuit against the men, the New Black Panther Party and its chairman. But several months later, with the government poised to win by default because the defendants didn't contest the suit, the Obama Justice Department decided the case was over-charged and narrowed it to the man with the nightstick. It secured only a narrow injunction forbidding him from displaying a weapon within 100 feet of Philadelphia polling places through 2012.
Congressional Republicans pounced. For months they stalled the confirmation of Thomas E. Perez, President Obama's pick to head the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, while seeking answers to why the case had been downgraded over the objections of some of the department's career lawyers. The Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility launched an investigation, which is pending. The independent, eight-member Commission on Civil Rights also began what has become a yearlong probe with multiple public hearings; its report is due soon. Rep. Frank R. Wolf (R-Va.), a prominent lawmaker in The Post's circulation area, has been a loud and leading critic of how the case was handled. His office has "aggressively" sought to interest The Post in coverage, a spokesman said.
The controversy was elevated last month when J. Christian Adams, a former Justice Department lawyer who had helped develop the case, wrote in the Washington Times that his superiors' decision to reduce its scope was "motivated by a lawless hostility toward equal enforcement of the law." Some in the department believe "the law should not be used against black wrongdoers because of the long history of slavery and segregation," he wrote. Adams recently repeated these charges in public testimony before the commission.
Worthwhile Reads Concerning Tuesdays Election
Some worthwhile reads from our friend Stephanie:NY 23 And What It Should Mean to ALL Republicans Going Forward.
The NRCC didn’t just spend it backing Scozzafava, they spent it attacking the conservative and gave the Democrat a pass at least till Dede finally backed out. Her endorsement of the Democrat can’t be ignored as a factor as well.URGENT: Everyone must know the facts of the November 3, 2009 Election
It has been acknowledge that Conservatives won some important elections on November 3, 2009 Election, but there are some elements that must be understood, and what Obama, Socialist Democrats, and main stream media will do over the next coming weeks and months. We all know what Obama is capable of doing from restricting free speech to restricting access to American Citizens. This election was devastating to him, and he fully understands that, and he will be out for bloodThanks Stephanie!
Good Night for GOP and Conservatives
The elections went well yesterday, as positions were wrestled away from Democrats, and the people let Obama know that they were unsatisfied with the direction his administration is going. Bob McDonnell, a Conservative Republican, won the state of Virginia's Gubernatorial race, by 18%.In New Jersey, Republican Chris Christie won by 5%.
In New York's 23rd district, Conservative Party Candidate Doug Hoffman, was able to force the liberal RINO, Dierdre Scozzafava, out of the race. He probably would have won too, if it weren't for the 100,000 + morons that voted for her, even though she was no longer running. Even though Owens beat out Hoffman, it sent a strong message to the GOP, letting them know we won't elect RINOs, we want conservatives.
Republican (if you can call him that) Michael Bloomberg won NYC's mayoral race, after putting up $100 million of his personal wealth.
And perhaps most significant, Maine became the 31st state to ban gay marriage. Yay! Take that, sodomizers.
Despite the media reporting that the Dems are in trouble, Pelosi and Obama seem to be ignoring the election results, and continuing their push to make America a socialist country.
Today's Election DOES Reflect on Obama
They will, to the mainstream media, not be relevant to or any sign of a rebuke against Barack Obama and his far left agenda.
In fact, the media is already beginning the narrative that we cannot see today as a referendum on Barack Obama.
Consider these facts:
New York 23
Barack Obama sent Joe Biden to visit.
Obama’s White House negotiated Dede Scozzafava’s endorsement of the Democrat.
Scozzafava and Owens both supported and campaigned on supporting the stimulus.
New Jersey
Obama sent his top pollster to take command of the race.
Obama visited multiple times, including the day before the election.
Obama is featured in most of Corzine’s advertising.
The Democratic Governors Association and DNC all pumped in a ton of money.
Corzine ran on helping Obama at the state level.
Virginia
The Democratic Governors Association spent $4 million to get Creigh Deeds elected.
The Democratic National Committee spent $6 millino to get Deeds elected.
Obama campaigned for Deeds multiple times.
Organizing for America sent a mail piece to 300,000 “surge voters”, or voters who voted for the first time in 2008, urging them to vote for Deeds.
Organizing for America set up phone banks for Creigh Deeds.
The state owned media is going to tell us none of this matters and this was no rebuke of Barack Obama.
Don’t believe it. The facts speak for themselves.

Voter Fraud
John Fund: The state has received a flood of 180,000 absentee ballot requests. On some 3,000 forms the signature doesn't match the one on file with county clerks. Yet citing concerns that voters would be disenfranchised, Democratic Party lawyer Paul Josephson wrote New Jersey's secretary of state asking her "to instruct County Clerks not to deny applications on the basis of signature comparison alone." Mr. Josephson maintained that county clerks "may be overworked and are likely not trained in handwriting analysis" and insisted that voters with suspect applications should be allowed to cast provisional ballots. Those ballots, of course, would then provide a pool of votes that would be subject to litigation in any recount, with the occupant of New Jersey's highest office determined by Florida 2000-style scrutiny of ballot applications.
28% of Deployed Troop Votes Not Counted
From the Marine Corps Times:Study: 28% of deployed troop votes not counted
By Rick Maze - Staff writer
Wednesday May 13, 2009
A study released Wednesday says that 28 percent of deployed service members were unable to vote in the November elections because their absentee ballots were uncounted or never collected.
That finding, based on data gathered by the Congressional Research Service from seven states with high populations of military voters, is worse than in the 2000 presidential election, despite a massive effort to improve the absentee voting process, said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., who requested the study.
“This is unacceptable and something we should not allow to continue,” Schumer said.
Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., said he expects Congress to do something tangible because voting laws are not working.
The seven states in the study were California, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington and West Virginia.
Combined, they account for 43.5 percent of the active-duty military population.
Report: One-fourth of overseas votes go uncounted:
By JIM ABRAMS
WASHINGTON (AP) - One out of every four ballots requested by military personnel and other Americans living overseas for the 2008 election may have gone uncounted, according to findings being released at a Senate hearing Wednesday.
Sen. Charles Schumer, chairman of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, said the study, while providing only a snapshot of voting patterns, "is enough to show that the balloting process for service members is clearly in need of an overhaul."
The committee, working with the Congressional Research Service, surveyed election offices in seven states with high numbers of military personnel: California, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington and West Virginia.
It said that of 441,000 absentee ballots requested by eligible voters living abroad - mainly active-duty and reserve troops - more than 98,000 were "lost" ballots that were mailed out but never received by election officials. Taking into account 13,500 ballots that were rejected for such reasons as a missing signature or failure to notarize, one-quarter of those requesting a ballot were disenfranchised.
The study found that an additional 11,000 ballots were returned as undeliverable.
The key to Obama's victory? I dunno, draw your own conclusions. One thing for sure, it isn't right, or fair. Even if these votes were from libtards, they still deserve to be counted. The only votes that should be counted are fraudulent votes, aka ACORN registered voters.

Franken Wins Senate Seat

So apparently, the Minnesota election contest panel has awarded the election to Al Franken. Al Franken, former SNL actor. Yes, the man who played "Stuart Smalley" may now become a US senator, barring some miracle. The only worse scenerio would be Sean Penn winning.
Three judges soundly rejected Norm Coleman’s attempt to reverse Al Franken’s lead in the U.S. Senate election late Monday, sweeping away the Republican’s claims in a blunt ruling Coleman promised to appeal.
After a trial spanning nearly three months, the judicial panel dismissed Coleman’s central argument that the election and its aftermath were fraught with systemic errors that made the results invalid.
“The overwhelming weight of the evidence indicates that the Nov. 4, 2008, election was conducted fairly, impartially and accurately,” the panel said in its unanimous decision.
Coleman is set to appeal the ruling. I really doubt he will win, he was far too passive in the recount. Coleman played the nice guy card, just like McCain. He refused to get in the mud and wrestle with Franken, and Franken was not. Conservatives and Republican's need to stop letting the lib and dem bullies push them around. We have the truth on our side, we have a proven track record on our side. What do we have to fear? When we let the "Stuart Smalley's" of the world push us around, it won't be long until they control everything.
Two Funny Stories About Kids (Future Conservatives)
I recently asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?'
She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.' Her parents beamed.
'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her, 'But you don't have to wait until you're President to help people. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and rake my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.'
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?'
I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'
From my friends family blog (names changed):
Kendall came home from school on election day. The first thing I noticed was an "I voted" sticker stuck on her shirt. I was delighted and started asking her questions. This is how it went....
Me: Why do you have that sticker.
K: I voted today. My whole class did.
Me: (overly excited) So who did you vote for?
K: McCain. He's the good one. The other one is the bad guy.
Me: Really. Why is he the bad guy?
K: He's the mean one. Mom, did you vote?
Me: Well.... not yet. This is the moment when my awesome neighbor, who always saves me, calls and offers to keep my kids so I can go vote.
Me: So if Obama is the mean one then why are some people voting for him?
K: Lots of people are voting for him because they think he will take care of them so they don't have to take care of themselves.
Me: Shocked. It took me a couple minutes to process. Wow!
Me: Did your teacher tell you that?
K: No. I think I read it in the weekly reader.
Me: Of course, the weekly reader would say that!
K: Can I watch the news to see who wins tonight?
Me: (delighted) Sure! (A kid after my own heart!) Kendall, you guys are going to go to the neighbors while I go vote.
K: Good Job, Mom. (She said it with such respect that I felt like I was doing the most noble, heroic thing there was to do.) Her teacher won a lot of points in my book!
Not only did Kendall watch the news (until she got frustrated by how much they were talking about Obama) but she also conducted her own polls in the bathtub and tallied up the scores on the bathtub wall. McCain won, of course!

House Plans Vote Wednesday on Stimulus Bill
HOUSE PLANS VOTE WEDNESDAY ON STIMULUS BILL
Facing rapidly dwindling GOP support, the House plans a vote on Wednesday on their version of the stimulus bill. The Senate Finance Committee released the text for the tax portions last week calling for $275 billion in tax decreases. See the 140-page Senate Finance report here. (Look for the two links starting with "Original Chairman's Mark..." on the Committee page). You can also see the current House text of the bill here.
The stimulus package is criticized from all sides. The GOP says there aren't enough tax cuts. Democrats want more spending. Some question the effect of the stimulus, especially some of the proposed spending such as funding for contraception. Economists say something big needs done fast. The package is almost too big to even summarize, but should Congress pass or defeat the stimulus bill? Select your initial view below to see more details on the proposed spending and then tell Congress what you think.

"From CNN Associate Producer Martina StewartNorth Carolina had the highest increase in voter turnout, according to a report released Thursday.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – A new report from American University’s Center for the Study of the American Electorate concludes that voter turnout in Tuesday’s election was the same in percentage terms as it was four years ago — or at most has risen by less than 1 percent.
Click here to read the entire report.
The report released Thursday estimates that between 126.5 and 128.5 million Americans cast ballots in the presidential election earlier this week. Those figures represent 60.7 percent or, at most, 61.7 percent of those eligible to vote in the country."

I gotta be honest, this doesn't seem like a revolution to me. It sounds like a turn around for the democrats, and a failure for the republicans to be sure, but not a revolution. Hey GOP, listen, give us conservatives to rally around in 2010, and 2012, and they will get elected.

I recieved the following e-mail from concerned democrats:In his Inaugural Address on 20 January, 1961, President John F. Kennedy closed his remarks with these famous words: "And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."
This is not the Democrat Party envisioned by Franklin Delano Roosevelt or Harry Truman, much less its founder, Thomas Jefferson, who would not recognize even the most vestigial elements of his once-noble Party. (This dramatic transition is evident in the Democrat Party Platforms from Kennedy to Obama.)
Every four years, at the peak of presidential election cycles, we're told by the talkingheads and the party hacks that "this election is the most important in our lifetimes." This time, however, they may be right. These are indeed perilous times.
For the first and final word on the necessary character traits the next president should possess, let's return to our foundation, our Founders, those who risked all to proclaim our individual rights and responsibilities as ordained by God, and outlined them in our Declaration of Independence and its subordinate exposition, our Republic's Constitution.
