Mexican Law Requires Police To Check For Illegal Immigrants

The controversial Arizona law that forces local police to check whether a person is an illegal immigrant has drawn a lot of critics, including Mexican President Felipe Calderón.

Whether you agree with the law or not, here's the point of this post: it turns out that despite its bluster, Mexico actually has very similar laws on its book against the country's own Honduran illegal immigrants.

Mexico's Foreign Ministry said the law "violates inalienable human rights" and Democrats in Congress applauded Mexican President Felipe Calderón's criticisms of the law in a speech he gave on Capitol Hill last week.

Yet Mexico's Arizona-style law requires local police to check IDs. And Mexican police freely engage in racial profiling and routinely harass Central American migrants, say immigration activists. [...]

"There (in the United States), they'll deport you," Hector Vázquez, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, said as he rested in a makeshift camp with other migrants under a highway bridge in Tultitlán. "In Mexico they'll probably let you go, but they'll beat you up and steal everything you've got first."

The Iillegal Super Highway Outside Tuscon AZ

I got this e-mail today. I haven't verfied it, but I have spoken to some people from AZ, and they seem to believe it's accurate.

This is on an "illegal super-highway" from Mexico to the USA (Tucson) used by human smugglers.

This area is located in a wash, approximately 1.5 miles long, just south of Tucson, Arizona. If a flood came, all this would be washed to the river and then onto the sea.

It is estimated over 5,000 discarded backpacks are in this wash. Countless water containers, food wrappers, clothing, feces, including thousands of soiled baby diapers. And as you can see in this picture, fresh footprints leading right into it.

As you keep walking down the wash, you would think for sure it was going to end, but around every corner is more and more trash.

And of course the trail leading out of the wash heads directly north to Tucson, then perhaps leads to your town tomorrow.

If these actions had been done in one of our Northwest Forests or Seashore National Park areas, there would be an uprising of the American people. Why is it different on the Arizona-Mexican border? Given problems like this, in conjunction with the kidnappings, drug deals, and criminals crossing the border, can you really blame them for wanting to enforce the law?

Good for Arizona

Under Janet Napolitano, the Department of Homeland Security has allowed law enforcement officials to ignore immigration laws already on the books so this Administration’s political agenda can be achieved. Obama's administration has clearly showed themselves to be "open borders" and shown that it is in favor of amnesty over the Rule of Law.

So states like Arizona are being forced to do the job that the Department of Homeland Security and the Obama Administration should be doing themselves. So good for Arizona, standing up for the Rule of Law and protecting America's best interests.

White House Trespassers

Makes sense to me.

Quit Feeding the Damn Birds

Jane bought a bird feeder, and hung it on her back porch, filling it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, filled lovingly with seed. Within a week she had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.

But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.

Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table; everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb Jane and try to peck her even though she had fed them out of her own pocket.

Other birds grew boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that she fill it when it got low on food.

After a while, Jane couldn't even sit on her own back porch anymore. So she took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. She cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like it used to be; quiet, serene and no one demanding their
rights to a free meal.

Cute story, right? But obviously there is an analogy here. The government is a giant bird feeder; they give out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free education, etc.

When they put out the feeder, many hungry and less fortunate Americans came to feed. That's great right? The needy got help. Well sure it's great, the only problem is, a lot of those birds are still there, feeding, not taking care of themselves. On top of that, they had baby birds, and now they are feeding there as well, because they don't know any better.

To further compound the problem, little birdies from other countries are flying in by the millions, demanding some of that free seed as well. Someone has to pay for the handout, which means taxes go up, as does our ever growing debt.

Am I suggesting we don't help the poor? Absolutely not. What I am suggesting, is limits and perhaps education. We shouldn't allow people to be welfare-for-lifers. Instead, assist those suffering hard times, while offering community classes to develop job and application skills, so they can earn for themselves. What do you think the cost difference would be between a few classes and a lifetime of providing for a capable individual?

If someone is physically unable to work, that's one thing, but if they are perfectly capable, that is quite another. There is truth to the adage that giving a man a fish will feed him for a day, but teaching a man to fish will stock his freezer with delicious fish sticks for life.

America is a country of opportunity, a place where if you work hard, you can accomplish anything. When did this change? When did America say, stop trying so hard, give us your money, and we will provide you, and others, with everything they need. When did this lead to a feeling of entitlement? Which inevitably led to the demand for more. It's a vicious cycle, and it has to stop.

Take down the damn bird feeder, and teach the birdies to catch a worm.

The Border Crossing Paradox

If you cross the North Korean border illegally you get 12 years hard labor.
If you cross the Iranian border illegally, you are detained indefinitely.
If you cross the Afghan border illegally, you get shot.
If you cross the Saudi Arabian border illegally, you will be jailed.
If you cross the Chinese border illegally, you may never be heard from again.
If you cross the Venezuelan border illegally, you will be branded a spy and your fate will be sealed.
If you cross the Cuban border illegally, you will be thrown into political prison to rot.
If you cross the U.S. border illegally, you get:
- A job
- A drivers license
- A social security card
- Welfare
- Food stamps
- Credit cards
- Subsidized rent or a loan to buy a house
- Free education
- Free health care
- A lobbyist in Washington
- And in many instances you can vote

Anchor Babies and Birthright Citizenship

I have planned on writing about this topic for a while, but haven't gotten around to it. Britanicus however, left the following message in the comments section of another post. I though I would share it as an appetizer to my future post. Thanks for sharing this Britanicus.

Its time to re-examine instant citizenship (Anchor babies) which hasn't been illuminated enough, to growing concern of the American public. For decades now pregnant women have arrived on tourist’s visas, through the fence and even at ports of call. Very aware of our mis-interpreted law governing "birthright citizenship", that attributes full rights to the Mother of an illegal immigrant. How can Americans benefit from this Health care reform package, when we must subsidize millions of households and not just the original interloper? Outlined in the spring issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons is an article that will stun a prudent person. An illegal alien entered the states in 1997 to work as a fruit picker, bringing with him his wife and three children; all illegal aliens.

The lady gave birth to a fourth child, and with that birth the family had an "anchor baby"—an American citizen by birth, who provided the entire family with a free pass to remain in the United States permanently and collect government, subsides. Unfortunately the baby was born prematurely, spent three months in the neonatal incubator, and cost the San Joaquin Hospital more than $300,000. Meanwhile, the oldest daughter married an illegal alien and gave birth to her own anchor baby, and then Cristobal’s wife gave birth to yet another baby. ALL PAID FOR BY—YOU!

This is just one taxpayer example of the 'Rule of law' that has cost taxpayers billions of dollars. A nurse admitted last weekend, according to Review-Journal reported that cash-strapped UMC hospital in Nevada is providing more than $20 million a year in emergency dialysis care for uninsured, illegal immigrants. Is American society insane when poverty stricken Americans are turned away, go bankrupt and sometimes die? TAXPAYERS ARE TAXED FOR THIS, BUT NOT FOR OUR OWN PEOPLE? We must insist that a Birthright Citizenship lawsuit be filed with the federal court and its original intent revisited? That E-Verify should be fully funded and a highly skilled MIT team, building on the original Immigration enforcement database to a highest level of security that cannot be compromised by the use of fraudulent documents.

The PC oriented application must be installed permanently on every business computer across this country? ICE should have the manpower to audit every workplace, with the power to arrest and detain employers who snub immigration laws? Repeat offenders should be dealt with harshly, including prison and confiscation of business assets. There should be no mitigating excuses because illegal immigrants are—STEALING JOBS-- on any rung of the employment ladder? These employers for years have been an intended magnet for destitute labor in many cases, but have left the burden of paying for schooling for the children, health care and a veiled miscellaneous core of government handouts to US taxpayers. THIS IS NOT ABOUT RACISM, BUT AN ULTIMATE FINANCIAL MATTER OF SURVIVAL FOR US ALL!

Insist your politicians guarantee E-Verify is fully funded and is not scuttled by Sen. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Janet Napolitano or any other high ranking Democrats. Video: The Healthcare Costs of Illegal Aliens

This is one freaking hospital. There are 5,764 hospitals in the United States. What is the total cost to the taxpayer? From CNS News:

The cost of treating illegal aliens amounts to nearly $11 billion a year, according to calculations done by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), a non-profit group that opposes illegal immigration. And that cost is not expected to go away if a health insurance reform bill becomes law.
Who ends up footing the bill?

In fact, state governments bear the heaviest burden for subsidizing the health care of illegal immigrants. Martin said he calculated that, all told, states pay $6.9 billion per year to care for their illegal immigrant populations.
Not only do tax payers cover the cost, but so does anyone else that receives medical services, through increased prices and premium charges. Outrageous.

Pelosi and the Dems say that Obamacare wouldn't provide for illegal aliens, which is a lie. How would they deny them care and coverage?

(...)the Congressional Research Service (CRS) says this about H.R. 3200, the Obamacare bill approved just before the recess by the House Energy and Commerce Committee chaired by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-CA:

"Under H.R. 3200, a 'Health Insurance Exchange' would begin operation in 2013 and would offer private plans alongside a public option…H.R. 3200 does not contain any restrictions on noncitzens—whether legally or illegally present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently—participating in the Exchange."
Furthermore, when the Dems talk about how there are so many uninsured people in our country, remember that a lot of those "uninsured" are illegal aliens.

The CIS study did include federal programs for which illegal immigrants are legally barred, such as Medicaid. However, federal funds still flowed their way due to the fact that illegal immigrant parents gain access to federal welfare and health care benefits through their U.S.-born children.

According to the CIS study, illegals accounted for 13.1 percent of all federal costs of covering the uninsured in 2004, an estimated $2.2 billion per year. Seventeen percent of households headed by an illegal immigrant were using Medicaid, accounting for 1.7 percent of all Medicaid recipients.

Thanks Riley!

How hard is this to understand???

OK, it's been WAY too long since I have posted here, so thanks to Valerie and her comments on my comments on this post to inspire me to drag myself in....

Apparently I struck a nerve when I called hussein the Obamoron. But I figure after having to endure 8 years of the radical left wing moonbat lunatics hurling insult after insult at Dubya, well, if it's OK for them then it would be OK for us too. But apparently not so, the vile hypocrisy so prevalent in the current Communist administration seems to extend itself to the supporters of the worst president the country has ever seen. And what amazes me is that while day by day, the Democrats continue their onslaught to dismantle this great country the moonbats continue their march toward Utopia, blindly unaware of the consequences of the actions of the *expletive deleted*s they were not only stupid enough to believe, but managed to elect.

Anyway, on to the point of today's post.... With the shambles of the economy he has managed to create, Obamoron really has substantially better things to be doing with his time than trying to take over the jobs of parents. It is NOT the presidents job to tell kids to stay in school. Keep in mind, Valerie, I am using "you" and "your" in the plural sense.... It is YOUR job, as a parent, to raise your children and teach them to go to school, assume responsibility for their actions and become productive members of society. So by thinking that hussein needs to be in charge of raising your kids, you showing not only your children but the rest of the world that you have not managed to learn how to be responsible for yourself, you are reinforcing that fact to your children. It is the very definition of the welfare nanny state the communists in congress would so love to create that there is some super-entity somewhere that will handle all these unpleasant tasks for you, like being a parent, having a job, getting health insurance, paying your bills, and lust generally being a responsible adult.

I will go so far as to say that I find it incomprehensible how any self-respecting American would even WANT this level of someone else's involvement in their life. It disgusts me that there are so many people who are either unable or unwilling to accept any responsibility whatsoever for their own condition and are perfectly content to let others do everything for them.

I guess it comes down to the "equality of opportunity" vs. "equality of condition". What Obama-lama-ding-dong's supporters want is some sort of bleary-eyed Utopia where everyone is the same, everyone is equal and we all stroll blindly along hand-in-hand singing "We Are the World". Everyone living in a carbon-neutral urban highrise, driving a Prius, recycling and composting with our thermostats on 85 in the summer and 65 in the winter, growing organic gardens on green roofs and gazing lovingly in doe-eyed adoration at The Anointed One as He in his all-knowing power caters to their existence from cradle to grave. I DON'T THINK SO!!!!

I prefer plan B- where the federal government actually follows the principles and ideals of our founding fathers, as laid out in the Constitution. There aren't many in Washington who act like they are even aware that precious document exists, but I assure you it does. The federal government exists to protect national security and uphold our bill of rights- period. Here's a link, in case any of you have forgotten what they are.... It really is that simple, folks.

I want the government out of my refrigerator. I do not want their hand on my thermostat. I do not want them in my car. I absolutely do not want them in my children's school. I do not want them in my gun cabinet. I do not want them in my doctor's office. I sure as hell do not want them in my checkbook, nor do I want them in my 401k. I do not want them in my computer. I do not want them in my bedroom.

I want them at the borders of this country. I want them ZEALOUSLY defending the rights of every single US citizen to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I want them protecting and furthering the hopes and dreams of our founding fathers that this may be a nation limited by nothing. Where an individual's success is bounded by nothing other than their God-given talents and a drive to make the absolute best possible outcome for themselves.

A Solution to Illegal Immigration

From an e-mail I recieved:

Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country lately: illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in Florida.

Not me. I concentrate on solutions for the problems. It's a win-win situation.

+ Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border.

+ Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levies.

+ Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border.

Problem solved.

Thanks Donna!

Cows and Illegal Aliens

From an e-mail I recieved:

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

Thanks Donna!

Are you smarter than an immigrant?

No disrespect intended to immigrants. I was just wondering how many US citizens could actually pass the test given to immigrants who have applied for citizenship.

The test is quite comprehensive and delves into current events and US history quite extensively. I have created this 20 question quiz from the 100 samples questions given to help prospective candidates study for the exam.

Try your luck and see if you have what it takes to be a Citizen. No cheating!

Good luck.

Immigration Parable

The following is from an e-mail that has circulated for some time now:

Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, 'No! I like it here. It's better than my house. I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).

By the way, while I live in your house, you are required to let me stay in your house, feed me, add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, provide other benefits to me & to my family (my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there. The ACLU will sue you, and cause you all sorts of grief.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just
trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest person, except for well,
you know, I did break into your house.

I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior.

Oh yeah, I demand that you learn my language so you can communicate with me.

Standoff at the American Civic Association Building - New York

Some reports say that more than a dozen people have been killed in Binghamton, New York, in a hostage standoff at an immigration services center.

A gunman with a high-powered rifle shot at least six people and took dozens more hostage Friday after invading an upstate immigration services center, authorities said."A number of people are dead," Binghamton Police Capt. Alex Minor told the Daily News from the scene. One of the victims was critcally injured, and all six were taken to local hospitals.Binghamton Mayor Matthew Ryan said the gunman was inside the American Civic Association building, the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin reported.

Thanks to LGF

Stuff like this just turns my stomach. I hate to see innocent people die at another's whim. I also don't like anti-gun lobbyists to have more ammunition. No pun intended. Our hearts go out to all the victims and their families. And as for the shooter, may God have mercy on you, you sick SOB.

Now This Is REAL Change!

Now This Is REAL Change!
Posted by Sarah Brooks on March 4, 2009 at 12:52am

The shoe is on the other foot. Now this is REAL change.

This needs to done all over this country, would solve our problem.

The shoe is on the other foot and the Mexicans from Sonora don't like it.

Can you believe the nerve of these people? It's almost funny.

State of Sonora is angry at Influx of Mexicans into Mexico.

Nine state legislators from the Mexican state of Sonora traveled to Tucson to complain about Arizona 's new employer crackdown on illegals from Mexico . It seems that many Mexican illegals are now returning to their hometowns and the officials in the Sonora state government are ticked off about it. A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson on Tuesday to say Arizona 's new employer sanctions law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state.

At a news conference, the legislators said Sonora - Arizona 's southern neighbor, made up of mostly small towns - cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools it will face as illegal Mexican workers here return to their hometowns without jobs or money.

The law, which took effect Jan. 1, punishes employers who knowingly hire individuals who don't have valid legal documents to work in the United States Penalties include suspension of, or loss of, their business license.

The Mexican legislators are angry because their own citizens are returning to their hometowns, placing a burden on their state government. 'How can they pass a law like this?' asked Mexican Rep. Leticia Amparano-Gamez, who represents Nogales . 'There is not one person living in Sonora who does not have a friend or relative working in Arizona ,' she said, speaking only in Spanish. 'Mexico is not prepared for this, for the tremendous problems it will face as more and more Mexicans working in Arizona and sending money to their families return to hometowns in Sonora without jobs,' she said. 'We are one family, socially and economically,' she said of the people of Sonora and Arizona .

Wrong!

The United States is a sovereign nation, not a subsidiary of Mexico , and its taxpayers are not responsible for the welfare of Mexico 's citizens. It's time for the Mexican government, and its citizens, to stop parasitically feeding off of the United States and to start taking care of its/their own needs. Too bad all the US states don't pass a law just like Arizona . Maybe that's the answer, since our own Congress will not do anything!

New Immigration Laws: Read to the bottom or you will miss the message.....

Too strict?........

The above laws are current immigration laws of MEXICO !!!

These sound fine to me, NOW, how can we get these laws to be America 's immigration laws??

WAKE UP, AMERICA - we are losing our country.......

16 illegals sue Arizona rancher; Claim violation of rights as they crossed his land

Of all the things to make me angry in the news today, I think this one tops it: 16 illegals sue Arizona rancher; Claim violation of rights as they crossed his land... As if illegal aliens don’t make enough mockery of our laws? I hope they get a conservative judge that throws their butts back to Mexico, and fines them for wasting the courts time, and this poor ranchers times. Seriously, the whole idea is rucking fidiculous.

How Many Mexican's Can You Fit in a Van?

I like most Mexican people, just as I like most Americans. I don’t have prejudice against them, they are God’s children, just like you and me. So let’s get that out of the way. What I do hate, is illegal activity. I don’t like it when people ignore our laws, and sneak into our country. Yes, yes, we are a country of immigrants, I get that, I love that, I respect that, and encourage that. But, we are not a country of illegal immigrants. Law and order should be followed in all things.

What I hate more than illegal immigration, is when that immigration brings more illegal activity. Drugs, black market guns and ammo, theft, murder, rape. The statue of liberty reads: Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free… It doesn’t read, give me your criminals, your iniquitous, your nefarious masses yearning to do wrong.

Por Ejemplo, the below video, though sort of funny, also highlights the problem with illegal immigration. There is a problem when we have a van PACKED with illegal aliens, defying our laws, again, engaging in a high speed chase with police officers, with no regard for the lives they are endangering, including their own. Anyway, take a look:

What to do with the illegal aliens in our country that are doing their best, just to make a living, and are following our laws, even if they first defied them when they entered our country, is a whole other argument. But what to do with those who are here illegaly, and once here perpatrate more crimes? Well, that's simple. Deport them. Put on some steel toe boots, and kick them firmly over the border. But, before they leave, take their pin a note on their shirt that says, "Cross our border again, and we will shoot, no questions asked."
