A Victory for Gun Rights
The Supreme Court ruled for the first time Monday that the Second Amendment provides all Americans a fundamental right to bear arms, a long-sought victory for gun rights advocates who have chafed at federal, state and local efforts to restrict gun ownership. The court was considering a restrictive handgun law in Chicago and one of its suburbs that was similar to the District law that it ruled against in 2008. The 5 to 4 decision does not strike any other gun control measures currently in place, but it provides a legal basis for challenges across the country where gun owners think that government has been too restrictive.
The XM-25 Individual Airburst Weapon
The XM-25 Individual Airburst Weapon is the kind of gun that you see in movies such as Fifth Element or Judge Dredd, but never expect to be real. Well, it certainly is real, and it's now ready to be tested in combat.The gun fires a 25-millimeter "smart round" that can be detonated at pre-programmed distance, spreading shrapnel in all directions. It uses a rangefinder to figure out how far away a target is, and the operator can manually adjust when the bullet detonates to suit different situations, allowing a soldier to attack entrenched targets around corners and in buildings more effectively.

Cooking Bacon with a Machine Gun
Behold, a new way of cooking bacon. All you need is: bacon, tin foil, some string, your every day, common, household machinegun, and about 200 rounds of ammunition.
You start by wrapping the barrel in tin foil. Then you wrap bacon around it, and tie it down with some string.
You then wrap some more tin foil around it, and once again tie it down with string. It is now ready to be inserted into the cooking device.
After just a few short bursts (Give it about 200-250 rounds. ) you should be able to smell the wonderful aroma of bacon.
Ah the smell of sizzling bacon mixed with the smell of gunpowder and weapon oil.
The end result? Crispy delicious well done bacon.

Utah Gov. Herbert Signs Gun Measure that Defies Federal Laws
I'm liking Gov. Herbert more and more, especially when compared to his RINO predecessor. Herbert just recently signed a bill concerning guns and ammunition manufactured in Utah. The bill would exempt those guns and ammunition manufactured and sold in Utah from federal firearms regulations.

SALT LAKE CITY — The first of more than a dozen bills aimed at asserting Utah's sovereign rights received Gov. Gary Herbert's signature Friday with assurance that he can keep the state out of costly litigation that may follow.
The statute created by SB11 (le.utah.gov/~2010/htmdoc/sbillhtm/SB0011.htm), sponsored by Sen. Margaret Dayton, R-Orem, exempts guns and ammunition manufactured and sold in Utah from federal firearms regulations and challenges current constitutional interpretation of interstate commerce.
Herbert, who received the bill last Tuesday, said the decision came after careful review of the potential fallout from the controversial legislation.
"There are times when the state needs to push back against continued encroachment from the federal government. Sending the message that we will stand up for a proper balance between the state and federal government is a good thing," he said. "But in these challenging economic times, when Utah families continue to struggle and our Legislature must account for every dollar it spends, we must also be thoughtful about the cost of that message."
Making the bill law likely moves the state into direct conflict with federal law, and a legal review by legislative attorneys warned that Dayton's proposal would likely be found unconstitutional.

Koosh Bullets
I'm a little hesitant to shoot toys at an intruder only to have them return fire with adult bullets. I'll stick with my .45, I think.

Rifle Range Mishap - Somebody is Watching Out for this Guy
This guy is shooting a 50 CAL. Watch the dust when he fires. The target is a steel plate, 1000 yards away (or is 100 yards?). You can hear the ping of the hit, and then the bullet comes back and hits the ground just in front of his position, then tumbles up hitting his earmuffs, knocking them off of his head. The footage is amazing. You can hear the bullet as it tumbles through the air on its course back toward the shooter. He's lucky it hit the dirt first. He is okay, and obviously very lucky. The bullet grazed his temple. What a difference a half an inch makes.

Politics as Usual
Hope and change; where is it? If you ask me, it's still just politics, and it's worse than ever. The Washington Times reported that Obama has been offering nice little perks and incentives to high rolling democrat donors. Pay a little green, get a free game of golf with the president. That would explain why he has played more golf in nine months than Bush played in 34 months. These perks also include things like personal movie screenings in the white house theater, and a game of bowling in the white house alley.
The war in Afghanistan is turning into a giant mess. Top officials are even resigning to get away from it. Matthew Hoh left, stating that he didn't know why were even there any more. Pansy. Even though our brave soldiers are dying, and October has been the deadliest month in the war, Obama doesn't seem interested in reaching a decision to send more troops.His pet project, health care, is getting no where fast. "Blue Dogs"
are fighting against the public option, giving Dirty Harry Reid conniption fits. Why can't the anointed one get things done? You'd think, since every one loves him, and they control both houses, this wouldn't be such a problem. Bravo "Blue Dogs."Well, at least electing a black president has cured racism. Oh wait, maybe it made it worse. I don't remember. Typical white folks like me get confused sometimes.
Still, it's not all bad news. Obama has done wonders for the gun companies.
