Mitt Romney-Sarah Palin in 2012? - I'm Drooling

Oh please let this happen. Not just because they would be the most attractive duo to run for the White House, but because of what they could both bring to the table.

I know people have problems with him, I do as well. But until I see another serious contender that could do a better job than Romeny, I am willing to overlook his shortcomings.

Conservative superstar Sarah Palin opened the door yesterday to joining forces with Mitt Romney for a 2012 White House run - a hot ticket that has some Republicans licking their chops at the prospect of unseating President Obama.

“Sounds pretty good,” Palin declared at yesterday’s Tea Party Express rally on the Common when asked about pairing up with the former Bay State governor - giving the idea a big thumbs-up as she left the stage after her headline speech.

Last night, as Palin stopped for cannoli at Mike’s Pastry in the North End, she said she was “serious” about the idea.

“I have a lot of respect for Mitt,” she told the Herald.

(...)

Romney, a presumptive 2012 Republican presidential contender who recently embarked on a nationwide book tour, has not ruled out an alliance with Palin, the GOP’s 2008 vice presidential candidate.

“Mitt Romney respects Sarah Palin and he appreciates the contributions she makes to the party,” said Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom. “But his immediate focus is on helping Republicans win back the Congress in 2010.”

Mitt Romney Wins SRLC Straw Poll

Mitt Romney wasn't very successful in the south in the last primaries, but surprisingly, he won the straw poll at the Southern Republican leadership conference, beating out Ron Paul and Sarah Palin. Does this translate to the primaries? I don't know, but it certainly is interesting. If you ask me, there are few more qualified and competent that Romney when it comes to fixing the economy.

New Orleans -- Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (R) won the Southern Republican Leadership Conference straw poll with 24% of the vote. It was an impressive display of organizational ability for the 2008 presidential candidate, especially considering he didn't even attend the event.

Romney is widely considered to be preparing for a 2012 run and was still highly visible at the conference; a group called 'Evangelicals for Mitt' put up placards in the hallway outside the ballroom, gave out piggy banks that read, "Elect a president who won't break the bank - Romney 2012" and took out a full page ad in the conference brochure.

Texas congressman and 2008 presidential campaign phenom Ron Paul (R) came in second place, losing out by one vote.

Paul also dropped some money for his votes. The tickets to the conference cost $150, but the Ron Paul website was selling them for $30. So, in theory, Paul paid $120 a piece for a good portion of his votes.

Sarah Palin's Hand Notes

This is huge. Forget Watergate, Forget Bill Clinton, forget any political scandal, because those are all small beans. The MSM is going nuts over the biggest political scandal of our, or anyone's lifetime: Sarah Palin had notes written on her hand during a speech. Where is the investigation into this? This is uncalled for, and totally outrageous. Why can't she just read verbatim from a teleprompter like the anointed one?

Not to be outdone, Biden and Obama have started copying Palin, in hopes of leeching some of her popularity.

But was Sarah going to take this lying down? No, she isn't John Edwards Mistress or a Clinton intern. Sarah mocked the media by writing "Hi Mom" on her hand, while out campaigning for Rick Perry. If they are gonna focus on what she writes on her digits, it might as well be something nice.

I can only imagine the uproar a few index cards would have caused.

Crazy Obama Supporters - A Photo Collection

Obama Fans:

Yep, he is wearing a diaper, playing a flute.

Your mother must be so proud. (I censored the shirt)

1980's Punks for Obama?

"Save me Obama!"

Class act. In case you cant read the blurry photo, the shirts say "Sarah Palin is a Cu--"

Supporters even have their own clothing line. Pretty neat, but not as neat as the Lenin, Mao or Che shirts.

Mugshots of people arrested wearing Obama shirts. Ha!

No, no. Correction, God "ordained" him Obama. Not "made." Blasphemy.

WTF? Seriously, what does that mean? Speak English you dirty hippie.

Cult (Cough), cult freaks (cough).

I bet her feet stink.

"Ahhhh! You Barack my world!"

That can't be a real wedding ring. You mean to tell me someone married her? Maybe it was "playing the flute in a diaper guy."

Twins separated at birth???

You go cowgirl!

Obama Haircuts:

Yeah, no. That doesn't look like Obama, at all. I would probably try and get my money back.

Those are a little better, but it still looks like his face was smashed with a frying pan.

This is the best of the worst. It would be pretty cool, if it was a picture of someone else, like Burt Reynolds or something.

Awww, Obama looks sad in this one.

Ahhh, yeah boooooooooy.

This one looks like Golem.

Obama Cars:

These girls seem cute enough, to bad about the brain dead part.

Oooh, girl, no you didn't.

Obama tattoos:

Hey, awesome.... You are still a nerd though. I mean come on, that is such a girl place to get a tattoo.

That picture was actually created by connecting the freckles. Neat.

That one looks painful. I hope it was.

Obama looks like Bill Cosby.

This guy must have the ladies all over him.

Finally, a liberal took my advice to "Suck it."

"Rush Limbaugh hopes the country fails? I hope his kidneys fail, how 'bout that'?"

President Laughs at Wanda Sykes Joke About Rush Limbaugh: 'I Hope His Kidneys Fail'...
"I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker, but he was so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight."

Obama laughs at Rush "Oxycontin" jab.
CSPAN was trained on the president when Sykes joked that Limbaugh was the "I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th [Sept. 11th] hijacker, but he was so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight."

Obama was chuckling -- while saying something to his dais mates -- and couldn't quite stop smiling even as he sipped some water.

She finished her Rush bit with: "l hope this country fails?" I hope his kidney fails!"
He chuckled at that one too.

What was Obama thinking?
What was Wanda Sykes thinking? Perhaps more to the point, what was President Barack Obama thinking when he laughed and smiled as the comedienne wished Rush Limbaugh dead?

Although the Left is reporting her White House Correspondents' Dinner speech as "taking shots" at Limbaugh and mocking everyone, that's a gross misrepresentation of what turned into a hateful and disgusting diatribe.(...)

But the speech took a very ugly turn when she laid into Limbaugh.

This is what she said: "Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails, so you're saying, 'I hope America fails', you're, like, 'I dont care about people losing their homes, their jobs, our soldiers in Iraq'. He just wants the country to fail. To me, that's treason.

"He's not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying. You know, you might want to look into this, sir, because I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker. But he was just so strung out on OxyContin he missed his flight."

She then concluded: "Rush Limbaugh, I hope the country fails, I hope his kidneys fail, how about that? He needs a good waterboarding, that's what he needs." Obama seemed to think this bit was pretty hilarious, grinning and chuckling and turning to share the "joke" with the person sitting on his right.

There's not much room for differing interpretations of what Sykes said. She called Limbaugh a terrorist and a traitor, suggested that he be tortured and wished him dead.

What was his crime? Hoping that Obama's policies - which he views as socialist - will fail.

President mocks press at dinner: 'All of you voted for me'...
The routine brought mostly guffaws from the 2,500 journalists, politicians and celebrities jammed into the Washington Hilton ballroom for the press corps' annual celebration of itself. The president acknowledged perceptions that he's a media darling: "Most of you covered me; all of you voted for me. Apologies to the Fox table."

Skit with teleprompter...
“Good evening. You know, I had an entire speech prepared for this occasion. But now that I’m here, I think I want to try something a little different. Tonight, I want to speak from the heart. So, I’m not going to use this script. I’m going to speak off the cuff. [Two teleprompter shields rise slowly from beneath the podium, to musical accompaniment. Laughter.] Good evening … [huge laughter]

Why did Wanda get free pass?
Somehow Ms. Sykes got laughs with this material, and draws no fire. It is all supposed to be about the setting, or so we are told. President Obama was there, the dinner is always the Washington version of a Friars Club Roast, just without the Sopranos language. (...)

But what if Limbaugh, white talk show host, goes on the air and says that Sykes, black comedian, is about half-a-terrorist and that, oh by the way, he hopes she dies? Is he allowed to say he's just an entertainer, and tell everybody to lighten up?

VIDEO: Wanda Sykes Makes Fun of Absent Sarah Palin With Abstinence Joke
VIDEO: Obama Ribs Press: ‘Most of You Covered Me; All of You Voted for Me’
VIDEO: Obama Mocks GOP Chair Michael Steele’s Use of ‘Street Slang’

Honestly, what can I say here? Out President is a class act. Obama feels like he is a celebrity, not a president. He loves attention, he loves the spotlight, he thinks he is the bees knees. Have you seen his guest list? The evening's guest list featured (in no particular order): Glenn Close; Robert De Niro; Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck; Natalie Portman; Stevie Wonder; Sting; Taye Diggs; John Cusack; Demi Moore; Alicia Keys; Brad Paisley; Eva Longoria Parker; Forest Whitaker; Jon Hamm; Chris "Ludacris" Bridges; young actors Miranda Cosgrove and Chace Crawford; and, for good measure, directors George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

In the ballroom, Tom Cruise and his wife, Katie Holmes, obliged photo requests -- even an unusual one from Bloomberg reporter Bill McQuillen, who wanted a picture of himself with Cruise's wife. "You want me to take the picture?" asked Cruise, who then complied.

The guest list reads like the MTV music awards. Pathetic.

Sarah Palin Like a Mail Order Bride? Chris Matthews Thinks So

Now that MSNBC doesn't need to pick on Hillary Clinton, to help out their main man B.O., they have decided to do a little Palin bashing. Not only do they call her a mail order bride, they also compare her to a one night stand, like a floozy you pick up at a bar. Below is the exchange, for the video, see below:

MATTHEWS: What happened between those two?

FINEMAN: Uh, it was a lost weekend that didn’t go beyond the weekend. [LAUGHTER]

MATTHEWS: He thought she was something special [crosstalk] but she wasn’t the genuine article.

FINEMAN: You know what? He had no idea, with all due respect to the Senator, he had no idea what he was getting. They came into the convention, and I was covering it closely at the time –

MATTHEWS: Was she a mail order bride? [CROSSTALK]

FINEMAN: Practically! He really didn’t know who she was!

The Difference Between What Obama Says and What He Does

An Agent of Cynicism
Peter Wehner

In the matter of just 50 days, a fissure has widened into a split; the split has become a gap; and the gap is becoming a gulf. I have in mind the extraordinary contradiction between what President Obama says and what he does.

Consider a partial list, starting with earmarks. During the campaign, Obama said, "the truth is, our earmark system -- what's called pork-barrel spending in Washington -- is fraught with abuse. It badly needs reform -- which is why I didn't request a single earmark last year, why I've released all my previous requests for the public to see, why I've pledged to slash earmarks by more than half when I am President of the United States." And as ABC's Jake Tapper pointed out, after John McCain picked Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, Obama criticized her for having been of two minds on earmarks. "When you have been taking all these earmarks when it is convenient and then suddenly you are the champion anti-earmark person," Obama said, "that is not change, come on. I mean, words mean something."

Yet yesterday, Obama signed rather than vetoed a massive, $410 billion omnibus spending bill -- which contained more than 8,500 earmarks. Adding chutzpah to his hypocrisy, Obama told reporters, "The future demands that we operate in a different way than we have in the past. So let there be no doubt: this piece of legislation must mark an end to the old way of doing business and the beginning of a new era of responsibility and accountability that the American people have every right to expect and demand." This is the fiscal version of St. Augustine's prayer, "Lord, make me chaste -- but not yet."

Second, Obama made bi-partisanship a cornerstone of his campaign. It was he, we were told, who would repair the breach and "turn the page." It is he who wrote that "genuine bipartisanship assumes an honest process of give-and-take" and that the majority must be constrained "by an exacting press corps and ultimately an informed electorate" to "negotiate in good faith." Yet Republicans have been shut out from writing and offering substantive input into key legislation. Obama has so far demonstrated no interest in authentic bi-partisanship; he is allowing Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid to muscle through their agenda, even at the cost of losing almost every elected Republican in the United States Congress.

Third, Obama made ethics reform central to his candidacy. In arguably the most important speech of the campaign, the Jefferson-Jackson dinner in Iowa in 2007, Obama said, "[Lobbyists] have not funded my campaign, they will not work in my White House..." Upon taking office, Obama made quite a show of announcing new ethics rules barring lobbyists from working in the administration on issues that fell under their lobbying bailiwick. Yet Obama immediately allowed waivers for lobbyists working on issues that fell under their lobbying bailiwick.

Fourth, Obama praised his Administration for putting an end to "phony accounting." His budget, we were told, was an honest budget, without gimmicks, numbers you could trust. Except that we learned that when President Obama, in his speech to a joint session of Congress, said his Administration had identified "$2 trillion in savings," it turns out that $1.6 trillion of the "savings" Obama is claiming are based on the surge in Iraq continuing for 10 more years -- even though on February 27, in a speech at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Obama said, "Let me say this as plainly as I can: By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end," and the Status of Forces Agreement negotiated by the Bush Administration, which calls for all U.S. forces to be out of Iraq, is set for December 2011.

Fifth, President Obama has continually presented himself as trans-ideological, the answer to "worn-out dogmas" and "worn-out ideas" and "stale political arguments." He doesn't subscribe to an "old, discredited philosophy." It is his critics, he insists, who do. It is they who are intellectually rigid, dogmatic, captives of old ways of thinking. Obama is the one who, like Lincoln, will "think anew and act anew."

Except that it is Obama himself who displays rutted thinking. It is he who is championing worn-out dogmas. And it is he who is advancing a deeply ideological agenda. Unlike Bill Clinton and Tony Blair, who demonstrated policy creativity and attempted to advance "third way" solutions, President Obama is turning out to be utterly and conventionally liberal, embracing record-breaking spending programs and record-breaking tax increases and giving us a record-breaking deficit and record-breaking debt. Rather than par down his liberal aims in the light of the economic crisis we face, he is enlarging them.

Sixth, Obama has decried "the smallness of our politics -- the ease with which we're distracted by the petty and trivial, our chronic avoidance of tough decisions, our preference for scoring cheap political points instead of rolling up our sleeves and building a working consensus to tackle the big problems of America." He has said to his fellow citizens, "Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long." Yet Obama's White House, led by his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and his most important political adviser, David Axelrod, hatched a poll-tested plot to target radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh. They are promoting what they pretend to lament: phony and foolish diversions, distractions and manipulations, immaturity and pettiness.

There is more. Obama has promised time and again to make "hard decisions," yet he has made almost none. He has talked about the importance of embodying a culture of responsibility, yet he pretends that the omnibus spending bill he signed yesterday was "last year's decision." He says our responsibility to our children is "to ensure that we do not pass on to them a debt they cannot pay" -- yet based on his own budget figures, Obama will add $7 trillion to our debt from 2009 to 2019.

This has led, sooner than anyone could have imagined, to a serious credibility gap. It would be unfair to say that Obama is unique in this regard; many times public officials make claims they cannot keep or find that governing requires them to make amendments to what they said during the campaign. What is striking about Obama, though, is how antithetical his acts are compared to his words, his unwillingness to admit he is not practicing what he preached, and the sheer audacity of his hypocrisy and moral conceit. He still insists on presenting himself as the man who will cleanse the Augean stables, even as he adds to the mess.

Barack Obama is perpetrating a fiction. And it is fiction from a man who made "change" and "new politics" centerpieces of his campaign. Even many who voted against Obama took him at his word because, to quote Obama himself, "words mean something." We admired not simply his skills, but his capacity to tap into something real and hopeful in America .

"Where we are met with cynicism and doubt and those who tell us that we can't," Obama said on the night he was elected, "we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes we can."

And when we are met with politicians who pretend that the politics of cynicism is the politics of hope and ask us to go along for the ride, who vulgarize and invert the meaning of words in order to advance their own narrow aims, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the wisdom of an awakened people: No we won't.

You May be a Liberal If...

You may be a liberal if...you were the Tracy Flick of your nursery school. Confident, dominating preschoolers grow into liberals, while fearful and easily victimized tots turn conservative.

You may be a conservative if...you alphabetize your underwear drawer. Conservatives are more likely to have neat and tidy rooms, and liberals messy ones.

You may be a liberal if...you're up all night. 28% of liberals have insomnia, compared with 16% of conservatives.

You may be a conservative if...you're a woman who craves chocolate chip cookies. Liberal ladies prefer theirs fruit filled.

You may be a liberal if...you're in the mood for Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie-Dough Cheesecake. Liberals' chain eateries of choice are the Cheesecake Factory, Panera Bread, and Starbucks, while conservatives dine at Hardee's and Fuddruckers.

You may be a conservative if...you're happy with tap water. Domino's Pizza claims Republican customers are less likely to order beverages.

You may be a liberal if...you're too lazy to walk to the pizza place. The Domino's survey found that Democrats rely on delivery more than Republicans.

You may be a conservative if...you have a son. Parents of boys are more likely to be conservative than parents of girls.

You may be a liberal if...you possess Obama-like calm. When shown a picture of a spider on a human face, most conservatives jump in fright; liberals react roughly the same as when they're shown a picture of a bunny.

You may be a conservative if...your dreams are chaste. Nearly half of liberals report having erotic dreams; only 38% of conservatives admit to it. (This was before Sarah Palin.)

A GOP Loss Deserved

Author: Gavin H. Kanowitz
Blog: Worldoreason

The Democrats now control the House of Representatives, the Senate and of course as we all know with the coronation…oops inauguration ceremony on Tuesday…the White House. They are there in force and number following a much deserved loss by the Republicans. Now lets step back a second….I can hear some readers groaning at the moment. No… I have not gone soft in the head, nor am I a turncoat. In every way I am a Classic Liberal which by today’s standards makes me a conservative. This is not the issue. Why then am I so down on the GOP? Here is a list of twelve reasons:

1. The Republican House members in the last few congresses have acted like small ‘l’ liberals. They increased government spending and seemed averse to tackling the spiraling debt…in short they turned their back on the successful Gingrich Revolution. A return to fiscal conservatism is needed.

2. They tolerated within their ranks such pork belly project seat warmers as Alaskan Ted Stevens. Yes the Dems had former Klansman Senator Robert Byrd, who was just as obnoxious in this department, but surely the GOP has higher standards than what the Dems have to offer?

3. Republicans especially the Bushites continued to endorse affirmative action programs…. mostly by their silence. In fact it seems that only the Young Republican groups on campus take opposition to affirmative action seriously. Affirmative Action is wrong and affront to anyone who believes in meritocracy. Many Republicans in congress claim to agree with this sentiment. Why then did they do so little to advance the fight against such blatant discrimination?

4. University Campuses grew more radical during the Bush years. Allan Bloom’s analysis in the ‘Closing of the American Mind’ is coming to fruition as the far leftist Anti-American monoculture continues to spread in the heart of higher education. Other than the work of David Horowitz and co. (who are not in government) where was the concerted effort from Republicans to combat this imbalance? After all if we lose the minds of the younger generation the future of the GOP and the nation will indeed look bleak. On the same theme why do so few Republicans (in government) stand up for the American people’s First Amendment Rights, in actively opposing the Speech Code lunacy that are commonplace at the nation’s university and college campuses?

5. Too many Republicans (especially the Bushites) cozy up to the Saudi’s as though they are America’s ally in the War against Terror. The Saudi’s for the most part detest the US. Their schools and institutions preach a version of Islam (Wahhabism) that is extremely hostile to the West. It is no accident that the vast majority of the 911 terrorists were Saudis. Saudi Arabia is no friend of the US nor should it be treated a such. If Republicans were truly serious about combating the Islamist threat they would distance themselves from this terror source. In short its time to rethink the influence in the party of the Grover Norquists, Darrell Issas, Spencer Abrams and James Bakers of the world. By the same token how is it that so many radical Muslims have found their away into the US over the last ten years or so. Look at the latest pro-Hamas demonstrations in Fort Lauderdale, New York and Detroit. Not to mention Irvine, San Francisco and Seattle. I thought there would be more vigilance in this area or are we now allowing CAIR to influence our immigration policy?

6. Although I am generally not a fan of Lou Dobbs (his smugness is annoying) he is correct in arguing that Republicans have let down the Middle Class in favour of the corporate elites. The Democrats picked up on this weakness and it cost the Republicans at the polls. It is time to return the party back to its base. The base being those who work for their money and pay taxes.
7. Secure borders are a necessity and illegal immigration has to be curtailed. Republicans failed to show a united front on this issue allowing it to drift from the radar in 2008. Both McCain and Bush were particularly weak in this regards. The Democrats took advantage of this lapse to shift focus to areas where they were most likely to win votes and it clearly paid off.

8. Sarah Palin was a poor choice for VP in 2008 (and would not be a great pick for president in 2012 either). She was clearly out of her depth from the get go and allowed the McCain campaign to forgo their one trump card that they had over Obama et al…that of experience. The prospect of Palin in high office was as a fellow conservative friend of mine stated ‘..like a bad Disney movie.’

9. John McCain’s environmental policy was second rate and whether conservatives like to admit it or not green politics will not disappear in the future. Conservatives need to adapt to this reality which is not inconsistent with support for western ideals or the free market. A change of approach may translate into a long term winning ticket. Republicans can make an environmentalist agenda their own by embracing geothermal, wind and/or solar technologies within an entrepreneurial context. Bismarck followed a similar philosophy of thought when he bought in a workable pension system (also an issue of the left) in 19th century Germany and thereby undercut the influence of his Social Democrat opponents.

10. Silly Red Neck Simplicity does not work….Some Republicans counted on this to pick up votes in various regions of the country…but the approach is tired and jaded and lacks vision. The electorate has changed as has the population dynamics of the country. Grow up.

11. Republicans needed to press for more consolidation of the security agencies in the US. Why does the nation need so many different organizations anyway? The CIA, NSA, Military Intelligence, Homeland Security etc? Also it seems that the CIA for one is acting like a rogue agency. After the WMD fiasco the organization should have been purged from top to bottom. Enough is enough…the US needs a world class intelligence system not a bunch of competing Keystone Kops…

12. Too often it appears that the Republicans are waging a War on Science. While this is not the case this meme (expanded on by the MSM) clearly influenced public perception. Republicans can allay such fears by divorcing themselves from the pseudo-scientific intelligent design movement and the anti-stem cell brigade and re-emphasize a commitment to science. An outreach to the scientific community would help in this regards. Obama has already enhanced his credentials in this region by choosing Physicist and Nobel Prize laureate Stephen Chu as his Energy Secretary. The US is the driving force of democracy if it wishes to continue in this regards it needs to be a scientific powerhouse as well. Republicans could take the initiative from the Democrats by championing private enterprise in the field of Space Exploration Industry for example.

In short the GOP has to alter its way of thinking…it should certainly not separate itself from its Conservative base but it must not be loathe to incorporate new approaches to policy either….policies that can only break the milieu of staleness that it currently finds itself in. If it doesn’t it could endure an absence from power comparable to the FDR/Truman era. Times after all they are a changin……..

Obama Landslide?

Where was Obama's landslide? There is no doubt, the electoral votes went heavily in his favor, but he only won by about 7 million votes. There were still 56.5 million people that want nothing to do with his socialist agenda. Not only that, but his 7 million more votes cost him over 600 million dollars. A commanding win, sure, a landslide, hardly. It really doesn't say much to his credit, when he had to spend far, far more than anyone in history, and he still only won by this slim margin.

Another interesting note, the media continually said this would be a massive turnout for Obama, and we would see poll numbers like never before. Well, if that's the case, then why did George W. Bush, in 2004, when he was supposedly hated by all, garner 62,040,610 votes? Obama only had 64,030,409 votes... Where was the gigantic influx of new voters?

Consider this, in 2004 121,069,054 people voted. In this election, where massive waves of people were supposed to turn out and vote for the messiah Obama, 120,525,211 people voted. Do you know why? Because many people were less than enthused for either candidate. True conservatives had no one on the ballot for them, save Sarah Palin, but she was the VP, not our candidate.
True Regan Republicans and Democrats saw two evils on the ballot, and didn't see it worth their time to vote for the lesser of two evils. This was a big win for the democrats to be sure, but it was not a landslide. Conservatism is not dead, it is as strong as ever, it was simply unrepresented. But in 2012, if we have someone to truly rally behind, things will be much, much different.

You want a blow out? You want a landslide? You want to see what happens when conservatives have someone to rally behind? Reagan 1980, 1984. Only Minnesota went for Mondale in '84, now that's a landslide.

Questions for Liberals

Questions for liberals.

1. If Obama wants to pull up the bottom half of the country, and increase the size of the middle class, why is Obama’s aunt living in a Boston slum? Why is his brother George Obama living in a hut in Nairobi? Didn’t Obama quote Matthew 25:40? Yes, yes he did. “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” If you ask me, he seems happy to give away everyone else's money, it's cracking his own wallet he seems to have a problem with.

See here about his aunt, and here about his brother.

2. What qualifications does Obama have to be president? Keeping in mind, he has no executive experience. A community organizer is not a preparation for the presidency. He only served in the US Senate from Jan. 3, 2005, until the day he announced his exploratory committee on Jan. 16, 2007. Sure, you can argue that Palin only been governor for two years, but at least that is executive experience, and at least she isn’t running for president. Please, give one example of an accomplishment that relates to the presidency. Please give us one example of his leadership, as it relates to the presidency. Anything, please.

CNN Misquotes National Review to Slam Gov. Palin

The following is from newsbusters.org, and is to me as good an example of total media bias as I have ever seen. Journalism is dead, this is outright stumping for your presidential candidate:
"On yesterday's Situation Room (10/21/08), CNN's Drew Griffin completely mischaracterized the nature of a "quote" from National Review's Byron York during his interview with Alaskan Republican Governor and Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

Griffin said to Gov. Palin: "Governor, you've been mocked in the press, the press has been pretty hard on you, the Democrats have been pretty hard on you, but also some conservatives have been pretty hard on you as well. The National Review had a story saying that, you know, ‘I can't tell if Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt or all of the above.'"

This is a complete distortion, a falsehood. The full quote from the National Review's Byron York shows he was in fact dressing down the media, NOT Gov. Palin. "Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for vice president, it's sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or - or, well, all of the above."

MRC President and Newsbusters.org Publisher L. Brent Bozell, III issued the following statement in response:

"CNN ripped the National Review's Byron York's quote completely out of context and stood its meaning on its head, all so they could dishonestly bash Gov. Palin with it. This is the lowest form of sub-tabloid journalism. CNN's distortion simply proves York to be correct: the media are out to destroy Sarah Palin.

"York's quote, properly cited, assails the media for its horrible misrepresentations of Gov. Palin. And CNN reinforces his assessment of their tactics by misrepresenting what he wrote so they could again bash Gov. Palin.

"CNN clearly knows they did something wrong, as evidenced by their removing the question from their online video. But that's not enough. CNN should immediately correct the record, and apologize to Gov. Palin, Byron York and National Review and their viewers who were again subjected to their special form of journalistic malpractice."

Volunteer Deployment for McCain-Palin

Volunteer Deployment for McCain-Palin

For those who are ready, willing and able to pack a suitcase and hit the road for voter turnout in a target state, Volunteer Deployment is for you!

We are recruiting McCain Marshals and McCain Mavericks to deploy to states all over the country to assist existing McCain-Palin 2008 operations in their final days of voter contact.Who should apply?

McCain Marshals

This program is for those who are comfortable working independently, managing a local office and recruiting new volunteers. Additionally, our McCain Marshals must be familiar with the new political technologies we are using in the field. Ideally, they will have campaign experience, or have participated in Deployment in recent years and be familiar with our turnout operations. The requirements are a minimum one-week commitment (October 29th through November 5th).

McCain Mavericks

This program is for all of you that are able to give the last week or two before Election Day to make turnout phone calls and go door-to-door in one of our top battleground states. You'll work all day (and night) long with a group of friends (some new, some old) to turn out voters on Election Day. The departure day is anytime before November 1st, and you'll be able to return home on Wednesday, November 5.

How do I apply?

Please apply online at http://www.johnmccain.com/deployment.

Thank you!

It's All in God's Hands

"DENVER – Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin describes herself as a "hard-core pro-lifer" and expresses confidence that in spite of disheartening polls, "putting this in God's hands, that the right thing for America will be done at the end of the day on Nov. 4."

In an interview with evangelical leader James Dobson that aired Wednesday, Palin said she thought Republican presidential candidate John McCain would implement the GOP platform if elected — "I do, from the bottom of my heart" — but McCain doesn't support the platform on three issues important to evangelicals: abortion, gay marriage and embryonic stem cell research."

It really is true, it's all in God's hands, and we have to remember that. We can only do all we can do, and after that, we have to turn it over to God. If Obama wins, then that means he is supposed to win. That means we are supposed to stumble as a country, and feel the pain of a socialist leader in the white house. That means we are supposed to make a big mistake, and hopefully learn from it, and improve upon it. God gives us trials every day to make us stronger in the end, this could very well be a big one coming up folks. Pray for the best, prepare for the worst.

That being said, I really don't think that Obama will win. I believe too many Americans are not fooled by his facade, too many Americans know evil when they see it, too many Americans want what is best for our country, and know that Obama is no it. No, I don't think he will win, and if he does, I think the determining factor will be massive fraud, and the result of unparalleled media bias, and outright lying and stumping on behalf of Barack Obama.
