Ground Zero Mosque Builders Apply for Millions From 9/11 Rebuilding Fund
Are you kidding me? I'd say this is the most ridiculous lack of empathy and logic ever displayed, but that would be a gross understatement.
Developers behind the controversial Ground Zero Mosque are trying to secure $5 million from a federal fund dedicated to rebuilding Lower Manhattan after 9/11, the Daily Beast reports.
The fund contains taxpayer dollars, the report says, and those behind the mosque are trying to secure that money through a “community and cultural enhancement” grant.

I think we have become frogs in a pot of boiling water. Over time the government has turned up the heat with more and more security measures until ultimately they started groping us and taking x-ray pictures of our naked bodies; oh the boiling water.
Security is important, no denying that, but it seems to me that we have put all of our attention on catching old ladies trying to sneak sewing needles through airport scanners, and not enough attention on people's rights. Seeing me an my family naked isn't making anyone's flights safer. What we need are highly trained TSA agents trained in identifying dangerous people and their behavior, not a 300 pound man named Butch with an IQ of 80 feeling me up.

I Stand Behind Israel
Israel has had thousands of its citizens killed by Hamas. It is surrounded by countries that deny the Holocaust, and claim they want Israel wiped off the map. Naturally, Israel is a little cautious, and when they come across a large ship carrying "aid" to Palestine, they would be inclined to examine the cargo before allowing it to be distributed. It could, after all be carrying weapons and other unsavory items. When they attempted to examine the cargo by first boarding the ship, they were attacked with knives and axes. Would you not defend yourself in that situation?
These were not peace activists, these were thugs. Israel was right to act the way they did. It is a shame that lives had to be lost, yes, but it is a shame that is underscored by the violent action of the "activists" that provoked the self defense. Israel did not set out looking for a fight, they were protecting their people from harm, much like our Border Patrol and Coast Guard do every day.

A Hemet man who passed himself off as a U.S. Marshal was able to enter the international airport in San Diego with a “prisoner” after convincing airport security officers he was a federal agent, a TSA spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday.
Suzanne Trevino, spokeswoman for the Transportation Security Administration, said in a telephone interview that an investigation has revealed that someone who presented “falsified law enforcement documents” was able to get past security and eventually make it to a gate with a prisoner. The individual presented himself as a law enforcement officer and followed the proper procedures, including logging in, she said.

The five senior leaders of the U.S. intelligence community told a Senate panel Tuesday they are "certain" that terrorists will attempt another attack on the United States in the next three to six months.
The warning came during the annual threat briefing to Congress in response to questions from Sen. Dianne Feinstein, California Democrat and chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, who asked, "What is the likelihood of another terrorist-attempted attack on the U.S. homeland in the next three to six months? High or low?"
"An attempted attack, the priority is certain, I would say," Director of National Intelligence Dennis C. Blair, a retired admiral, said in response.

The U.S., Britain, and Japan(?) are leading an effort to develop a cash incentive plan for the Taliban to stop their resistance in Afghanistan. The scheme would offer cash, jobs and other incentives to the Taliban and fighters in other armed groups.
Parts of the funds would be spent on projects to develop the fighters' villages and building roads to their communities. " Many people are not actually fighting for the Taliban but alongside the Taliban because of poverty and other local concerns, because of tribal issues."

Hamas: Israel Has the Right to Exist
Quite an interesting development, as reported in the Jerusalem Post:
Hamas has accepted Israel's right to exist and would be prepared to nullify its charter, which calls for the destruction of Israel, Aziz Dwaik, Hamas's most senior representative in the West Bank, said on Wednesday...
Asked whether he might be condemned as naïve for believing Hamas, Abrahams said, "People might say that I'm naïve, so let them. But I'm prepared to give them [Hamas] a chance because I've got faith and confidence in Dwaik and Haniyeh. We can't allow 1.5 million to be festering in the Gaza Strip while the majority of them are good and well-educated."
Abrahams said that his decision to engage Hamas was aimed at "preventing bloodshed on both sides." He said he was encouraged by the massive support he found among the Jewish community in Britain for the idea of talking to Hamas.
"I recently published an article in the Jewish Chronicle to test the temperature of the water within the Jewish community about Hamas," he said. "I found a lot of support among Jews for dealing with Hamas and I was pleasantly surprised."
How much can one trust Hamas? Probably as far as you can throw them. Still, it appears, at least, to be a step in the right direction. The majority, vast majority of Muslims are kind, educated people. It is a shame so many of the radicals have risen to power and defame the name of all the rest.

Medal of Honor recipient Bud Day Speaks of Torture
I got shot down over North Vietnam in 1967, as a Squadron Commander. After I returned in 1973 I published 2 books that dealt a lot with "real torture" in Hanoi. Our make believe president is branding our country as a bunch of torturers when he has no idea what torture is.
As for me, I was put through a mock execution because I would not respond. I was pistol whipped on the head. A couple of days later I was hung by my feet all day. I escaped and a couple of weeks later, I got shot and recaptured. Being shot was OK, what happened afterwards was not.
They marched me to Vinh, put me in the rope trick, and almost pulled my arms out of the sockets. They beat me on the head with a little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut.
The next day they hung me by the arms, rebroke my right wrist, wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands, rolled my fingers up into a ball. They only left me with the slightest movement of my left forefinger.
So I started answering their questions with some incredible lies. They sent me to Hanoi strapped to a barrel of gas in the back of a truck. In Hanoi, on my knees, the rope trick again, followed by a beating by a big fool.
I was put into leg irons on a bed in Heartbreak Hotel.
I got a really bad beating for refusing to condemn Lyndon Johnson.
Several more kneeling events. I could see my knee bone through kneeling holes.
There was an escape from the annex to the Zoo. I was the Senior Officer of a large building. Because of the escape, they started a mass torture of all commanders.
I think it was July 7, 1969, they started beating me with a car fan belt. In first 2 days I took over 300 strokes and then stopped counting, because I never thought I would live thru it.
They continued day-night torture to get me to confess to a non-existent part in the escape. This went on for at least 3 days. On my knees, I was beat with the fan belt and cut open my scrotum with a fan belt stroke. They opened up both of my knee holes again. My fanny looked like hamburger, I could not lie on my back.
They tortured me into admitting that I was in on the escape and that my 2 roommates knew about it.
The next day I denied the lie. They commenced torturing me again with 3, 6, or 9 strokes of
the fan belt every day from about July 11 or 12th to 14 October 1969. I continued to refuse to lie about my roommates again.
Now, the point of this is that our make-believe president has declared to the world that we are a bunch of torturers, and thus it will be ok to torture us the next time the enemy captures an American, because that is what the USA does.
Our make-believe president is a know-nothing fool who thinks that pouring a little water on someone's face, or hanging a pair of women's pants over an Arabs head is TORTURE. He is a meathead.
I just talked to MOH holder Leo Thorsness, who was also in my squadron, in jail, as was John McCain and we agree that McCain does not speak for the POW group when he claims that Al Gharib was torture or that "water boarding" is torture.
Our president and those fools around him who keep bad mouthing our great country are a disgrace to the United States.
If it got the Arab to cough up the story about how he planned the attack on the twin towers in NYC, hurrah for the guy who poured the water.

I was put into leg irons on a bed in Heartbreak Hotel.
I got a really bad beating for refusing to condemn Lyndon Johnson.
Several more kneeling events. I could see my knee bone through kneeling holes.
There was an escape from the annex to the Zoo. I was the Senior Officer of a large building. Because of the escape, they started a mass torture of all commanders.
I think it was July 7, 1969, they started beating me with a car fan belt. In first 2 days I took over 300 strokes and then stopped counting, because I never thought I would live thru it.
They continued day-night torture to get me to confess to a non-existent part in the escape. This went on for at least 3 days. On my knees, I was beat with the fan belt and cut open my scrotum with a fan belt stroke. They opened up both of my knee holes again. My fanny looked like hamburger, I could not lie on my back.
They tortured me into admitting that I was in on the escape and that my 2 roommates knew about it.
The next day I denied the lie. They commenced torturing me again with 3, 6, or 9 strokes of
the fan belt every day from about July 11 or 12th to 14 October 1969. I continued to refuse to lie about my roommates again.
Now, the point of this is that our make-believe president has declared to the world that we are a bunch of torturers, and thus it will be ok to torture us the next time the enemy captures an American, because that is what the USA does.
Our make-believe president is a know-nothing fool who thinks that pouring a little water on someone's face, or hanging a pair of women's pants over an Arabs head is TORTURE. He is a meathead.
I just talked to MOH holder Leo Thorsness, who was also in my squadron, in jail, as was John McCain and we agree that McCain does not speak for the POW group when he claims that Al Gharib was torture or that "water boarding" is torture.
Our president and those fools around him who keep bad mouthing our great country are a disgrace to the United States.
If it got the Arab to cough up the story about how he planned the attack on the twin towers in NYC, hurrah for the guy who poured the water.

Stop Obama From Importing Terrorists Stateside
I received this e-mail today:
Today Barack Obama is going to announce that the terrorist mastermind of September 11th, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, will be sent to New York City for a criminal trial in a civilian court.
In that trial, the terrorist will get all the rights afforded an American citizen in a criminal trial, including the right to a fair trial, the right to a taxpayer funded attorney, the right to review all the evidence against him, potentially including classified intelligence matters, the right to exclude evidence against him including, potentially, any confession obtained through enhanced interrogation techniques, etc.
At best, this will be a show trial fit not for the American Republic, but a third world kleptocratic totalitarian regime. At worse, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will gain access to classified material he can then leak to other terrorists while New York yet again becomes a target for terrorists. We have already had occasions in this country where terrorists' sympathetic lawyers have conveyed information, orders, and plans to other terrorists.
