Salt Lake City Tea Party - March 6th

From our friend David:

I am sure you have all seen the video "The Shout Heard Round the World" from Rick Santelli that started the "Tea Party Movement."

I sat around and watched other cities throw tea parties and I waited for someone to organize a Salt Lake Tea party. When no one did, I decided to do it myself!

So, I am organizing a "Salt Lake Tea Party" on the West Stairs of the Utah State Capitol to protest the out-of-control spending and the squandering of our country's future. The "Salt Lake Tea Party" (in honor of the Boston Tea Party) will be on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City. Poster making begins at 11:00 AM and the rally will kick off at 12:00 noon when the legislators break for lunch. We want to tell the legislators what we think as they walk down the stairs to go to lunch. There are tax breaks and bailouts for everyone who made this mess and people who made prudent decisions within their means are left to pay for the cleanup.

Here you can see the other Tea Parties across the country--Notice Salt Lake has been added to the list! :)

Now, I will stand and talk to the wind if no one shows up. But, it would be better if you could help me get the word out and let the politicians know what we think. Better yet, COME AND JOIN US!

Thanks again,

David Kirkham

Have a website where I'm tracking the grassroots movement for the folks here in Korea. How did the protest go?

My email is kalani@kalaniosullivan.com and the website page is http://kalaniosullivan.com/BO/BOPtIIa.html. (The site is really a historical site for two of the Korean air bases -- as well as my other hobbies of cooking and Hawaiian music, but receives over 10,000 hits a month.)

Disregard my last post. Found your http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95064&page=6 site. Posted some of the pics -- GREAT JOB. As a retired USAF officer, I am infuriated where Obama's taking the country...and am proud of what you folks are doing to protest back in the states. Thank you.
