Patriotism: Paying More Taxes?

It seems to me that liberals have stopped trying to disguise their policies as socialist; they are out there flaunting it openly. Comrade Biden, just this morning, was quoted as saying that rich people paying more taxes is the patriotic thing to do. First of all, patriotism is love and devotion to one’s country, not the willingness to give them all of your hard earned money, so they can waste it on pork barrel projects, and waste it on programs and other functions that help no one but themselves.

Second, what do you think taxing the rich and giving to the poor is? It’s the redistribution of wealth, a Marxist theory, and cornerstone of the socialist ideology. It’s scary enough that the government is already bailing out private companies, and interfering with capitalism, and the idea of private enterprise; now Obama and Biden want to do away with capitalism, and go back to the failed policies of socialism, and FDR.

Why is the solution always to tax for the left? When has the economy ever been improved by higher taxes? When has the country ever been better off because of bigger government, more interference with private enterprise, when has socialism ever succeeded? If you want change you can believe in, why would you vote for someone wanting to restore FDR’s failed policies, or someone wanting to model social programs after the teachings of Karl Marx? It makes me throw up in my mouth to think of this man as President.
