Obama is no Messiah

I was watching the local news with my wife the other day. The anchor was interviewing a man who was attending the inauguration. The anchor asked something to the effect of, “What do you expect of Obama?” The man answered with, now get this, “Peace on Earth, all I want is him to bring peace on Earth.” If any of you doubted the messiah complex this man has, and has infected his followers with… Look, this has simply gone too far. Christ is the only one capable of bringing peace to this earth. No man, no president, no king, no dictator can bring peace to this earth. Period.

John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

The President of the United States is a servant to the people. He is not our king, he is not our God, he is no more than a leader, appointed by the people, to do the will of the people (in theory). He can not, and will not bring peace to this earth. He can not, and will not provide all of our worldly needs, money, cars, houses. He can not, and will not save the earth from global warming, and environmental disaster. He can not, and will not get you the perfect job, make you pretty, find you the perfect match, make everyone equal, cure cancer, eliminate male pattern baldness, resurrect Lincoln, part the oceans, fix social security, eliminate poverty, alleviate droughts, push back floods, beat up tornados, fly around the world backwards to turn back time, find the fountain of youth, or live up to any of the crazy ideals, pedestals and aspirations his supporters have set up in their minds while chanting “Yes We Can” or “Hope.” No, he is just a man. And while I may despise him, for the good of our country I do hope that he can, at least, do good for our country, uphold the constitution, and best represent the people, of this, the greatest country on earth.

Obama is just a man that is correct. Whilst you stood behind the rhetoric of the religious reich in support of all things unchrist like, ie; torture, suspension of habeas corpus, unaccounted for billions of all americans tax dollars, willful neglect of Katrina victims, cronyism and no bid contracts to Cheney's haliburton,a massive increase in spending paling in comparison to all regimes before Bush,to name just a few, you call yourself a conservative and espouse conservative values, i find that disgusting and sad.

I only wish BHO would have acted in a humble way in the manner he admired Lincoln's humble ways. Lincoln would have been appalled at the cost of this event. If BHO is going to walk the talk, his actions by making this inauguration simple would have spoke volumes about his character. But, like all before him, he more than likely will succumb to the beltway brain washing and figure out he must repay those that got him there. Happens no matter what party is in power. Happened to Clinton, Bush and I doubt BHO is no different. But alas, time will tell.

Hey Black Blake, I'm going to need your help. I can't seem to find where I have written that I supported the aforementioned "rhetoric of the religious reich." In fact, I seem to recall admitting that although I admire President Bush, he has made many mistakes, to which I entirely disagree. Also, when admonishing someone for adhering to rhetoric, it is unwise to use liberal rhetoric in your argument.
