Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., the Democratic President-Elect, became a co-sponsor of the 2007 Senate version of the Freedom of Choice Act (S. 1173) which would establish the right to abortion as a fundamental right (like the right to free speech) and wipe away EVERY RESTRICITION, including the current State and Federal laws currently supported by nearly 74% of Americans today.This means that there would no longer be:
1. A ban on Partial Birth Abortions.
2. Requirements that women be given information about the risks of getting an abortion.
3. Requirements that only licensed physicians perform abortions.
4. Requirements that parents must be informed and give consent to their minor daughter's abortion.
This is slated to be the very first Act of Legislation to be signed and passed into law with this new administration (watch the clip Barack Obama Promises to Sign FOCA YouTube.com, posted July 9, 2008. ). Responding to a question regarding how he would preserve reproductive rights in a speech given to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund on July 17, 2007, he declared "The first thing I'd do, as president, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That's the first thing that I'd do."

Let us actively fight this horrible bill and save the lives of millions of babies. It blows my mind that ANY abortion could be legal, but without the above limitations in place an innocent baby could be slaughtered, chopped up and removed from the mother in pieces even weeks from delivery.
It is time that we start standing up to what we know to be right and true, and stop letting the ultra-left, highly vocal liberal minority brainwash our minds and control the futures of our children and millions of innocent babies who have no voice of their own.

Freedom of Choice Act - Declares that it is the policy of the United States that every woman has the fundamental right to choose to: (1) bear a child; (2) terminate a pregnancy prior to fetal viability; or (3) terminate a pregnancy after fetal viability when necessary to protect her life or her health.
Prohibits a federal, state, or local governmental entity from: (1) denying or interfering with a woman's right to exercise such choices; or (2) discriminating against the exercise of those rights in the regulation or provision of benefits, facilities, services, or information. Provides that such prohibition shall apply retroactively.
Authorizes an individual aggrieved by a violation of this Act to obtain appropriate relief, including relief against a governmental entity, in a civil action.
Those pro-abortion groups are raising big money. 75% of the women say they have abortions because it interferes with their career. You don't murder somebody just because he or she interferes with your career. Many of these parents have feelings of guilt and emotional and physical problems. Abortion weakens instead of strengthens a marriage. 70% of all relationships fail after abortions.
The most powerful statement on abortion was when the handicapped woman said, "What is the point of all of these tests on pregnant women?--To get rid of people like me?"
