At a rally in Nashua, N.H., a man in the audience told Biden how glad he was that Obama picked him over Hillary, "not because she's a woman, but because, look at the things she did in the past."
"Make no mistake about this," Biden responded. "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate, so let’s get that straight."
Spokesman Ben Porritt offered this response from the McCain camp: "Barack Obama’s most important decision of this election, and Biden -- the candidate he selects -- suggests, himself, that he wasn’t the right man for the job, and that Hillary Clinton would have been a better choice. Biden certainly has a credible viewpoint on this."

So this one has me scratching my head, my large, brain-filled, gorgeous head. Does Biden suffer from low self esteem? Is he being self-deprecating in order to pull some sympathy vote his way? Does he really believe that Satan... I mean Hillary would be a better VP? Are they really friends, or has Hillary kidnapped his kitten, and is blackmailing him with it? Has he come to the realization that he is a moron, and a terrible choice for VP?
Well, those are all real possibilities, but I would argue that he is making that comment to try and mend some wounds with the Hillary supporters, and all women. Obama and Biden have burned a lot of bridges with feminists, Hillary supporters, and women in general. They admitted to not vetting Hillary, they have continually bashed Sarah Palin, they have shown their sexism by suggesting that Palin couldn't be a good VP because she wouldn't be able to spend enough time with her family.
Yep, old Joe made this comment because he and Barry are backpedaling. They both realized they stepped in a big steamy pile, and they are trying to scrape off their shoes. If Biden praises Hillary, well then, he couldn't really hate her. If he says she would be a good VP or even president, well then he couldn't possibly be sexist. If he says she would be a better pick than him, well that's down right humble, kind and Messiah like. What a good man.
