Well, it passed the house... It's blaringly clear to me, but obviously not clear to a lot of people out there; the Democrats are using an economic crisis to increase the size of our Government. Why? To make people more dependent on the Government through larger social welfare programs ($265.5 billion or 30% of the proposed spending), and in turn increase their own power. Please read (or at least scan through) the bill and ask yourself, will these measures really give a boost to the economy, or is this simply more Government spending? .pdf file of billGiving $50 million to the National Endowment for the Arts, while nice, does not create many, if any jobs, and would not stimulate the economy in a way that justifies the expenditure. The Government shouldn't be spending all this money in the first place; but if they insist on it, then they should increase the money being spent on infrastructure from the current 5% to at least 50%. The rest of the money should go to the tax payers as another stimulus check, I could certainly use a new TV. Or better yet, they could simply lower all of our taxes, since the Federal tax rate is ridiculous and wrong in the first place. Ugh, this honestly makes me sick to my stomach.
