40% of Americans are Conservative

PRINCETON, NJ -- Thus far in 2009, 40% of Americans interviewed in national Gallup Poll surveys describe their political views as conservative, 35% as moderate, and 21% as liberal. This represents a slight increase for conservatism in the U.S. since 2008, returning it to a level last seen in 2004. The 21% calling themselves liberal is in line with findings throughout this decade, but is up from the 1990s.

So when you turn on your TV, read the newspaper, or read a magazine, and it seems like the whole world has become liberal, remember, most of us are good conservatives, or at least moderates that share many of our same views. Liberals, though vicious, nasty, smelly and stupid, are not as common as we think. They are just loud and obnoxious, and rule so much of the airwaves and Hollywood, that it often seems like they are everywhere. Fear not friends, keep up the good fight, and remember, we outnumber them 2-1.
