Benediction at Obama 's Inauguration

Benediction at Obama 's inauguration, Rev. Joseph Lowery:

'Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen. Say Amen'...

Seriously? Are we starting out the new "change" administration with some old fashion racism? "when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around" Uh, isn't a black man being sworn in as President? I'm not sure I... I don't quite understand... Isn't that in front... I...

"When the red man can get ahead, man" I seem to recall some lawsuits over sports teams using indian names, like Red Men. Also, I lost a lot of money on penny slots at an Indian casino. I think a lot of them are better off than I am. They had a pretty good buffet.

"And when white will embrace what is right." Wasn't Obama right? I knew it! Teach you guys to vote for him. Man, I'm glad I heard this prayer, appartently my ignorant white butt has been embracing the wrong my whole life. Thank goodness for Obama setting me straight.

Amen.
