Celebrity Education
So I thought I would do a little research. I am so sick and tired of celebrities pushing their liberal agenda on us, and using every opportunity to tell us how to vote. So I thought, what exactly qualifies these people to give us political advice? Well, it definitely isn't what they do for a living, so I figure maybe it was their education. So thanks to IMDB.com and Wikipedia, I found the following:
Actor George Clooney briefly attended NKU but did not graduate
Brad Pitt attended the University of Missouri, where he majored in journalism with a focus on advertising. He left college two credits short of graduating to move to California.
Sean Penn briefly attended Santa Monica College, but did not graduate
Susan Surandan Attended Catholic University of America Drama School, 1964-1968.
Ben Affleck Dropped out of the University of Vermont after 1 semester. He also dropped out of Occidental College after 1 year, where he had studied Middle Eastern studies.
Matt Dammon dropped out of Harvard 12 credits short of graduating to pursue his acting career.
Martin Sheen Purposely flunked his college entrance exam to the University of Dayton so that he could pursue an acting career instead.
Rosie Odonell dropped out of Boston University after 1 year. Also dropped out of Dickinson College, in Carlisle,PA.
Rosanne Barr dropped out of high school when she was 17 years old. After a car accident, she was admitted to a mental institution, claiming she was having nightmares and memory loss.
Kanye West attended Chicago State University/Columbia College, in Chicago. He dropped out to pursue music, hence the name of his 2004 debut album "The College Droput".
Barbara Streisand graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. She did not go to college.
Tina Fey studied drama at the University of Virginia.
Michael Moore attended the University of Michigan-Flint in the 1970s. He studied journalism.
Now this isn't to say you need a college degree to have a political opinion. But you would think that people that esteem themselves as such experts, with such public and widely brodcasted opinions would at least have some knowledge or expertise on the subject. Anyway, I thought this was pretty interesting. I also thought it might be interesting to see about the education of some conservative actors, here is what I found:
Bruce Willis attended Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey.
Ben Stein graduated from Columbia University in 1966 with honors in economics and as valedictorian of the 1970 Yale Law School class. He has worked as a poverty lawyer, a trial lawyer, a university adjunct (American University, University of California at Santa Cruz and Pepperdine University), a speech writer for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford and a columnist for The Wall Street Journal.
Chuck Norris joined the Air Force after graduating from high school, served in Korea.
Jon Voight graduated from Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, in 1960.
David Hyde Pierce study classical piano at Yale University. Unfortunately, he soon grew bored with music history lessons and found that he wasn't dedicated enough to practice the required amount of hours to become a successful concert pianist. Instead, he returned to his love of drama and graduated in 1981 with a double major in English and Theatre Arts.
Kelsey Grammar attended Juliard.
Wilferd Brimley Enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and spent three years in the Aleutian Islands.
Rip Torn graduated from Texas A & M University in 1952.
Jerry Bruckheimer graduated with a degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona.
Adam Sandler graduated from New York University (1991).
Dean Cain graduated from Princeton University with a major in History.
James Caan studied Economics in Michigan State University, where he also played football.
Patricia Heaton graduated from Ohio State University in 1980 with a BA in Theater.
Robert Duvall majored in drama at Principia College (Elsah, Illinois), then served a two-year hitch in the army after graduating in 1953.
Seems to me, there is a little more expertise in this list. Hmmmm... Do what you want with this info, I just found it interesting, thought you might as well.
